Labeling samples for microarray hybridization is a critical factor in array analysis, second only to RNA preparation. The more abundant, specific and labeled
the sample is, the more sensitive and accurate the array analysis will be.
Conventional methods of sample labeling are non-specific and result in a high
background and yield weak or false-positive signals. Consequently, the observed
relative gene expression profile becomes skewed and unreliable.
These conventional methods also require large amounts of total RNA and detect
only medium to high abundance messages. When RNA is more limiting or when
studying low abundance messages, amplification methods are required. The use of
some amplification methods to increase array sensitivity involves cumbersome
steps and also misrepresents the relative expression profile.
Our sample labeling kits, optimized for use with our GEArray™ products,
avoid these difficulties without compromising sensitivity or specificity in your
microarray analysis. These kits improve the limits of detection and provide a
more accurate representation of relative gene expression profiles. The linear
amplification methods are quicker and easier to perform than other procedures
and increase signal intensities without skewing the expression profile.
