Real-Time PCR License Enables SABiosciences to Provide 100 Pathway-Focused PCR Arrays for all ABI, BioRad, Stratagene, Eppendorf, and Roche Instruments

Frederick, MD. June 13, 2007 - SABiosciences Corporation announces that its catalog of over 100 PCR Arrays, focused on pathways such as apoptosis, cancer, immunology, signal transduction and more, now accommodates almost every 96- or 384-well ABI, BioRad, Stratagene, Eppendorf, and Roche real-time PCR instrument thanks to the recently signed real-time PCR licensing agreement with Applera.

Efforts by many biological research labs to perform pathway-focused gene expression has been hampered by the variety of real-time PCR instruments in the marketplace and their associated differences in block formats and filters. SABiosciences has met this challenge, providing both PCR Arrays in different instrument-specific plate types and master mix formulations with or without various reference dyes for every major 96- or 384-well real-time PCR platform.

PCR Arrays are powerful biological research tools allowing investigators to analyze the expression of a focused panel of 84 genes by using any real-time PCR instrument like a microarray. Each 96- or 384-well PCR Array contains SYBR Green-optimized qPCR Primer Assays for a thoroughly researched panel of relevant, pathway- or disease-focused genes. A combination of high-quality primer design and optimized master mix formulation enables the PCR Arrays to amplify 96 different gene-specific products simultaneously under uniform cycling conditions with the high levels of specificity and amplification efficiencies required for accurate real-time SYBR Green results.

"We are very excited about the impact that PCR Arrays can make in biomedical research," said Dave Martz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at SABiosciences. "Researchers now have an easy way to look at specific genes across an entire pathway of interest using whatever instrument is available to them. The completion of the real-time PCR licensing agreement has really given us the power to meet the needs of today's biological research with our PCR Arrays."

SABiosciences plans to continue expanding its collection of cataloged PCR Arrays for the ABI, BioRad, Stratagene, Eppendorf, and Roche real-time instruments with more biological pathways and to easily convert researchers' own preferred gene lists into convenient, affordable customized PCR Arrays.
