GEArray® S Series Human Dendritic & Antigen Presenting Cell Gene Array: HS-604

Description
The GEArray® S Series Human Dendritic & Antigen Presenting Cell Gene Array is designed for studying the expression profile of genes involved in dendritic cell activation and maturation. Dendritic cells, the most efficient antigen presenting cells, act as the first line of defense initiating specific immune responses to novel antigens. Immature cells reside in peripheral tissues where they ingest, accumulate and process antigens. The presence of antigen stimulates the cells to terminally differentiate, migrate to a lymph node, and present the antigen to naive T cells. Inflammatory signals, such as Toll-like receptor ligands and tumor necrosis factors, also induce dendritic cell differentiation. Dendritic cells also help maintain immune tolerance to self-antigens. This GEArray® includes genes encoding proteins important for dendritic cell activation and maturation such as cytokines, chemokines and their receptors, other cell surface receptors, and signal transduction molecules. Proteins involved in antigen uptake, processing, and presentation are also represented by this array. In addition to being functionally defined, many of these genes on the array are highly expressed in mature dendritic cells or significantly change their expression during the differentiation program.
