This position will manage the technology and scientific aspects of product marketing by developing plans to address the needs of specific segments within the real-time PCR, cell biology, or protein detection markets.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with R&D team to develop product specifications, guide products through the development cycle, and interface with customer-based researchers to collect product feedback.
  • Writing and editing marketing campaign messages, technical white papers, marketing literature, advertising copy, and press releases.

Must have M.S. degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or other related field and 0-2 years related experience and/or training. Ph.D. highly preferred. Must possess excellent scientific knowledge and direct experience with RNA interference, cell-based assays, protein detection or real-time PCR technologies.

Application Scientist 09-24-08

This position will be responsible for providing technical support to existing customers using SABiosciences products, and properly diagnosing new customers needs to provide recommendations and quotations for new products and services. Work responsibilities will involve 50% post-sales support and 50% pre-sales qualification and follow up. Our customers are located all over the world and contact us regularly for assistance on their research, specifically in the areas of Gene Expression and Characterization.

Candidates must have a M.S. Degree in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, or related Life Science discipline. Ph.D. strongly preferred. Minimum 4 years hands-on experience in a molecular biology laboratory. Applicants must have direct knowledge of gene expression techniques, RT PCR, and shRNA. Must be fluent in English and possess exceptional writing skills. Must be well organized, motivated, and customer service oriented. Must be willing to travel (up to 25%).

Process Scientist 09-24-08

This position will be responsible for developing manufacturing processes by evaluating and analyzing R&D or exiting protocols to satisfy customer needs.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop new manufacturing process for production by evaluating and analyzing R&D protocol.
  • Upgrade and optimize existing manufacturing process.
  • Design and develop QC specifications and assays by working with R&D scientist.
  • Scale up production as needed.
  • Develop automation process to transfer R&D protocol to manufacturing scale.
  • Introduce new instrumentation and systems to automate and simplify processes.
  • Write SOPs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must have a M.S. Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biochemistry, molecular biology or related field and 3 years related experience and/or training. Must have strong knowledge of basic science and ability to multi-task. Must have strong desire to evaluate, refine, and implement manufacturing processes from R&D protocol. Demonstrated ability to simplify complicated process. Experience with instrumentation and production/manufacturing automation techniques is preferred. Must be organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and possess excellent problem solving skills. Must be able to work cooperatively within a team setting and be eager to contribute to the success of the team. Prior production experience is preferred.

Director, R&D - Genomics 09-08-08

This position will be responsible for leading an established department of 14 scientists and will be responsible for expanding the department through recruitment of top talent. Working closely with the President and senior management, the position will be responsible for defining, developing and implementing a clear product development strategy in the genomics and functional genomics areas. Primarily responsible for the development of new products that generate future revenue and achieve growth objectives.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in life sciences and 5+ years of demonstrated scientific experience with proven success at a leading biotechnology reagents company or academic institution. A proven track record of successfully developing innovative, revenue-generating commercial research products is highly desired.

Must have in depth knowledge of molecular biology, genomics and functional genomics, and bioinformatics. Must be innovative and sensitive to specific applications of new technology; good at R&D bench work, and have the ability to react to situations quickly and decisively. Must possess good vision regarding future technological trends and have a strong passion for commercializing new technologies and discoveries. Must have ability to define a clear blueprint to expand technologies and product portfolios and scale solutions to address sizable market needs.

 
Postdoctoral Research Scientist (Cell-Based Assay) 09-02-08

This position will be responsible for performing research and development of transcription factors reporter assays and kinase assays; developing cellular assays by applying knowledge and experience in cell signaling and kinase biology; and utilizing reporter assay and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) technology.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and performing cell-based transcription factor responsive assays and kinase assays.
  • Performing product R&D under the supervision of Senior Scientist, present data to internal committees.
  • Working in a team with the Manufacturing and Sales departments to release the final product.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. Degree in biological sciences and 0-3 years experience in signaling pathways and kinase research; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have hands on experience with modern mammalian cell-culture techniques including transfection, luciferase reporter assay and fluorescent microscopy. Experience with fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) and viral transduction preferred. Must be goal-oriented, organized, able to succeed in an interactive teamwork setting, and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment.
