The
Inhibitors for Functional Assays are designed to help you determine the
specificity of the pathway activation observed with a Gene Function Assay,
such as a CASE kit. These chemical compounds directly inhibit the enzymatic
activation of a pathway's regulator. For example, the inhibition of a kinase
(such as PI3K) prevents the phosphorylation and activation of the next kinase
downstream (AKT) in its cascade. Test specificity by simply performing control
assays in the presence of your experimental stimulus with or without the
appropriate inhibitor. If signal is only detected in the absence of the
inhibitor, then the upstream regulator specifically activated the pathway.

Ready-to-Use
Convenience:
The inhibitors are shipped already dissolved at convenient stock
concentrations ready to dilute and use. There is no need to calculate volumes
or re-suspend the chemicals; you only need to calculate the appropriate
dilution factors. Add the dilutions directly to your cell culture medium to
pre-treat cells before adding your experimental stimulus to activate the
protein and / or pathway under study. (For best results, use serum-free
medium.)
